Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website. Reading its content, opening a page, or submitting a search means that you agree to them. Do not continue using the service if you do not accept these terms.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no connection to Roscommon County, the State of Michigan, or any other government body. It and its advertising partners do not offer a service for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions, or any purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource points readers to criminal-record sources in Roscommon County and Michigan. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site, independent of all government offices. It does not store official files, retrieve records, perform an agency background check, or submit documents for a visitor.

Its content identifies official Roscommon County custodians, including the Sheriff and criminal courts, along with the Michigan State Police Criminal Justice Information Center and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also provide access to tools operated by third parties.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the service, you agree not to:

  • Interfere with access for other visitors or degrade performance
  • Run a scraper, bot, or other automated collection tool against the pages
  • Attempt to enter systems or data without authorization
  • Use site content in a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Stalk, threaten, or harass a person with information found here
  • Violate any applicable federal, Michigan, or local law

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from the website or a linked tool must not be used to stalk, intimidate, threaten, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against anyone. Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry data requires added care. MCL 28.730 penalizes prohibited misuse, and the registry exists for public safety awareness rather than retaliation, vigilantism, or unlawful adverse action.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create credit reports, background reports, or any other consumer report. Site content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Make any other decision regulated by the FCRA
  • Determine eligibility for a covered license or benefit
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate a housing application
  • Make an employment decision

A check for a regulated purpose must be obtained through a properly authorized, FCRA-compliant provider and any official Michigan channel the governing law requires.

5. No Legal Advice

The content is not legal advice. General descriptions of Roscommon County records cannot determine how a charge, warrant, conviction, or Michigan set-aside rule applies to a specific person. Consult a licensed Michigan attorney for advice.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." No guarantee is made that:

  • A partner's results will be complete or correct
  • Pages will be free from defects or security weaknesses
  • The service will remain uninterrupted
  • All published information will always be current, complete, or accurate

Criminal records change when charges, dispositions, set-aside orders, and corrections are entered. Gaps and delays can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Roscommon County Sheriff, a court, MSP, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to official offices, court portals, Michigan agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Those destinations control their own content, privacy practices, prices, and availability. Their terms apply after a visitor leaves this service.

8. Intellectual Property

Roscommon County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, code, graphics, and logos. Written permission is required to copy, adapt, distribute, or create derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses or damages arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against a demand, claim, or action arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms. Any dispute related to use of the service must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Michigan. Michigan's public-record access laws, including MCL 15.231 et seq. and MCL 28.242a, govern covered agencies and state criminal-history dissemination, not this private website.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or terminated at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in force. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
