Why We Built This Site
Michigan provides several public access routes, but each serves a different purpose. The Roscommon County Sheriff keeps its own incident and booking material. Every local prosecution starts in the 82nd District Court, while a felony file may later move to the 34th Circuit Court. Michigan State Police operates ICHAT for public statewide criminal-history searches, MDOC operates OTIS for covered correctional records, and MSP also manages the public sex offender registry. We organize the official links, request steps, published costs, and local contacts so readers can begin with the custodian that actually holds the record.
What You Will Find Here
- Local record routes: how criminal court case records move between Roscommon County's District and Circuit Courts
- Official search steps: how ICHAT name searches and authorized fingerprint checks differ in Michigan
- Custodian details: ways to reach the Sheriff, court clerks, MSP, MDOC, and registry staff
- Set-aside information: where Michigan Clean Slate guidance and current court forms are published
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection with Roscommon County, any Michigan court, the Sheriff, MSP, or another government body. Those limits matter:
- We do not retrieve official criminal histories or run government checks
- We cannot issue certified court files, booking sheets, or repository records
- We do not submit set-aside applications, FOIA requests, or court forms
- We cannot give advice about a charge, warrant, conviction, or individual case
- We cannot promise that an agency has not changed a fee, hour, address, or process
An official copy must come from the Roscommon County Sheriff, the correct court clerk, Michigan State Police, or the other agency that originated the record.
Search Partners
Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Each provider controls its service, prices, matching process, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce referral revenue that supports this resource. We do not set the provider's charges or decide what its search returns.
